Looking Back: The Beautiful Things Goldmakers' Design Studio Made in 2024
My father Peter Zacharias died this year. He was an incredible jeweler and his passing has left me particularly proud of the artistic legacy of Goldmakers Jewerly’s studio. As 2025 begins I am reflecting on the beautiful designs created in collaboration between myself and our patrons and executed by our team of three craftspeople. We are keeping ancient artistry alive and well through these lovingly built, unique jewelry pieces. It is my hope that they become multigenerational treasures. Here are some of the notable works we made in 2024, enjoy!

Green and gold: Organic clusters such as this one have become a house signature. The free-form design is a delight to design, as it often comes about from me and the client simply picking favorites from a gem parcel, (in this case a lot of Montana sapphires purchased from a dear friend's grandpas' estate) and playing with the stones on a flat surface until a composition feels best.

Above: More organic themes abound; in this case a two-piece wedding suite is composed of two complementary silhouettes. Interest comes from the juxtaposition of the emerald-cut indicolite tourmalines against a soft, primitive finish in white gold. Diamonds buried in the metals' surface add a touch of sparkle.\

Above: The shape of an orchid provided the inspiration for this unique silhouette in 18k yellow gold and diamonds. Later in the year we created a gents' wedding band in a stylized bee motif to complete the theme of the suite.

Above: In another floral-inspired wedding suite, the couples prized creeping roses are represented. Creeping vines and leaves, and meticulous petals are accented by custom-cut pink padparashka sapphire.

Above: The motif of a curling squash vine makes for an incredible amethyst pendant in gold.

Above: Fanciful elements abound! Using Alexandrite and green moissanite in white gold, the curls and leaves combined by a fantastical palette make this ring fit for a fairy queen.

Above: This high polish Yellow gold wedding suite utilizes sculptural elements to create a sensuous liquid metal effect.

Above: This chunky pendant featuring a gorgeous deep-green Malachite formation, accented by heavy 18k yellow gold and our clients' heirloom diamonds.

Above: This three-piece stack shows success in excess; sapphire and pearl gemstones are all mixed eclectically with celestial elements in rose-gold.

Above: A delicately pigmented Montana sapphire and smattering of diamonds in yellow gold makes for this years' wildest take on the moi-et-toi engagement ring.

Above: Family emeralds are accented by a gold column in a matte finish. We researched museum antiques for inspiration of this classically informed design.

Above: We have been making some iteration of this cherry blossom halo with a driftwood shank engagement ring for 35 years now. This newest version features a generously sized salt-and-pepper violet sapphire.

Above: This combed-gold wheat motif has become a house signature design. The swirling wheat was particularly well suited to antique heirloom diamonds in this custom bridal set.

Above: A gorgeous pineapple-toned sapphire is set in white gold with diamonds. The generous accent stone size and sense of movement in the shank add interest to an already stunning and unique gemstone.
Revisiting these pieces fills me with excitement for the projects that will come our way in the years to come. I want my father’s legacy to be one of art and quality and it fills me with joy that this studio continues to produce the next generation of Goldmakers heirlooms. Thank you for a beautiful year!
